چکیده

We present here how a coherent perfect absorber-laser (CPAL) enabled by parity-time ($\mathcal{PT}$)-symmetry breaking may be exploited to build monochromatic amplifying devices for flexural waves. The fourth order partial differential equation governing the propagation of waves leads four transfer matrices, and this results in physical properties $\mathcal{PT}$-symmetry specific elastic plate systems. thus demonstrate possibility using CPAL such systems we argue concept detect extremely small-scale vibration perturbations with important outcomes surface science (imaging nanometer vibration) geophysics (improving seismic sensors like velocimeters). device can also generate finite signals very low exciting intensities. system alternatively used as absorber energy tailoring left right incident wave harvesting applications.

Edge layers in thin elastic plates

Monique DAUGE and Isabelle GRUAIS Abstract. This paper deals with the asymptotics of the displacement of a thin elastic plate when it is submitted to various boundary conditions on its lateral face: namely, hard and soft clamped conditions, and hard support. Of particular interest is the in uence of the edges of the plate where boundary conditions of di erent types meet. The singular perturbati...

Thermoelastic Relaxation in Elastic Structures, with Applications to Thin Plates

A new result enables direct calculation of thermoelastic damping in vibrating elastic solids. The mechanism for energy loss is thermal diffusion caused by inhomogeneous deformation, flexure in thin plates. The general result is combined with the Kirchhoff assumption to obtain a new equation for the flexural vibration of thin plates incorporating thermoelastic loss as a damping term. The thermal...

Elastic nonlinear stability analysis of thin rectangular plates through a semi-analytical approach

A semi-analytical approach to the elastic nonlinear stability analysis of rectangular plates is developed. Arbitrary boundary conditions and general out-of-plane and in-plane loads are considered. The geometrically nonlinear formulation for the elastic rectangular plate is derived using the thin plate theory with the nonlinear von Kármán strains and the variational multi-term extended Kantorovi...

Structural optimization of thin elastic plates: the three dimensional approach

The natural way to find the most compliant design of an elastic plate, is to consider the three-dimensional elastic structures which minimize the work of the loading term, and pass to the limit when the thickness of the design region tends to zero. In this paper, we study the asymptotic of such compliance problem, imposing that the volume fraction remains fixed. No additional topological constr...

Nonlocality, singularity, and elastic scattering

In this paper we first express the quantum nonlocality of AB-effect type in the form of singularity using the method of path integrals. By considering the gauge fix term in path integrals as usually done, the condition that AB effect happens is automatically satisfied. And then one can reach the conclusion that all the scattering processes are accompanied by nonlocal effect. The formulae are ex...
